Why Is It Used

It is for those who are economically marginalized sections of society. The scheme aims at providing basic dietary items to ensure good health in households with limited income sources. It avoids luxurious items.

How It Can Be Used

The EBT card is just like the debit and credit cards. All you have to do is swipe it in the machine at the billing counter once you’re done shopping.  Then type the private Pincode of your card and your payment is made. If you don’t have sufficient balance on your card then you can pay the rest of the amount through cash, credit or debit card, etc.  The ineligible commodities under ebt card also need to be paid under different payment methods as under the SNAP extension some categories are not allowed.
