Felon drivers

There are so many reasons a person could be a uber hire felon. The list is endless and the reminders that they have committed a crime follow them daily. Many people are serving time for crimes they are accused of doing. This leaves them with a permanent record as a criminal and a background that no one will employ. Being a felon doesn’t make you less of a person in society, I mean your past or mistakes shouldn’t define the person you are. You could be an ex-convict and be a well-respected pastor that is trusted by the community. What is the difference between being an uber driver?

Driver profile hack

In South Africa, most drivers are not registered as employees because of the commission fee. Instead, they look for the clients on the app and arrange separately to make the same trip or distance at a lower price. Drivers not being registered not only puts their passengers at risk but makes it hard to keep track of the trips. There are many cases of people being violated or even abused by their uber drivers that can not be solved because the driver can not be found. There are even cases of drivers buying fake profiles that are approved by the app.

How much do uber drivers make?

The amount of money that a driver makes may depend on different factors which may include;

Type of car class or modelArea or locationDistance and fuel consumption Hours workedOn average a driver can make between R4000 – R9000 in a week in Johannesburg. Mostly this is money straight into the driver’s pocket.

Issues uber drivers face

It is known that the fuel prices keep on increasing almost every second week. As a driver, you may find yourself spending more on fuel and making less of a profit. In other countries like Germany, they are finding ways to ban uber services, which may affect other countries to phase out uber. In South Africa, the war between Uber drivers and the taxi association puts most uber drivers at risk because of the violence and vehicles being taken away from the drivers. There are also many cases of passengers who take a trip with no money resulting in a free ride that may affect the driver’s profits and fuel consumption.

Conclusion

In conclusion, I know for a fact that uber does hire falcons. This is evident because we know that there are many unregistered drivers and many fake profiles used by foreign nationals. We have also seen on social media that people are getting abused and violated by their drivers. There’s also compelling evidence on the internet that confirms that most drivers are ex-felons and that you are more likely to get a foreign driver that may not be documented, which is a risk for the passengers.

Why does Uber hire felons?

Uber believes people should not be punished for past mistakes and that they try by all means to give a second chance to people with a criminal background. It is said that uber signed a White House Fair chance business pledge to hire felons to work.

My opinion on this topic and final thought?

I believe that people should be given a chance to better themselves and the opportunity to provide for their needs. But that also should not put innocent people at risk, because someone may say they are changed but old habits die hard. The risk may cost someone their life in the end. I do agree with Uber in hiring felons, but I believe that the trips need to be monitored and the profiles have to be verified for the driver to get clients for trips. This will be safer for all the passengers.
