So, Does TJ Maxx allow dogs?

Do Your Research

While most TJ Maxx allow dogs inside, a reviewer at “Bring Fido” gave them two stars out of five for being a good place for dogs to enter. Kyung, the reviewer, left a comment that stated – “I have 4 Tj Maxx stores near me. Only one of them allows dogs, the other 3 are limited to service animals only.” So, each store will have different policies depending on the size and the breed of the dog. It can also depend on if the shop is crowded or not.

There is some photographic evidence that suggests that TJ Maxx might not be the best store where one can bring a dog. The lanes are narrow, and the shelves are stocked haphazardly, so if you have a big dog or a dog that tends to knock over on things, navigating the lanes can be a little difficult. As seen in the picture below, it looks like small dogs need to sit in the cart in order to avoid mishaps. But even with the cart the small lanes make it difficult to navigate with a living creature in your hands.

Off-Leash Dogs

Dogs that are off-leash absolutely cannot enter the store. Citing safety and security reasons as to dogs can be unpredictable if not well trained, they can get anxious. Therefore, in order to maintain full control over your dog and keep other shoppers safe, dogs on leash are most welcome at TJ Maxx! Another reason why dogs need to be kept on leash is that they can ruin the merchandise at TJ Maxx – an overstimulated dog is bad news for everyone involved as they can go berserk and urinate on the clothes or the racks in order to mark their territory.

A loose dog is like a loose cannon – they can also run around in the shop, knocking over customers and children in their pathway. This will not only ban you from the store, but it can also cause life-threatening damage to the other shoppers. Even if you are a pet parent to a small dog like a pug or a yorkshire terrier in a purse or a handheld cage, they need to be leased in case anything goes wrong.

Pet Section in TJ Maxx

One of the best parts about shopping in TJ Maxx is the fact that they have a myriad of pet friendly goods they sell. From beds to kibble, TJ Maxx can rival a pet shop! They sell goods for cats, rabbits, hamsters, and not only dogs, so if you have multiple pets, this is the perfect place to shop for their requirements at a heavily discounted rate! Since TJ Maxx has a dedicated pet section that holds toys, bowls, beds, and even clothes, this is a well loved workplace that allows its employees to bring in their pets.
